Debbie Neuschatz

 
Debbie Neuschatz has been the director of a synagogue preschool for more than 20 years. Her most recent experience was at Temple Sinai of Roslyn, New York and prior to that she was at Temple Beth David Nursery School in Commack, New York. Debbie’s career as an educator began in the Tenafly Public School District in Tenafly, New Jersey, where she was a classroom teacher in both Special Education classes as well as a Kindergarten teacher. Debbie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Elementary Education from SUNY New Paltz. She received her Master’s Degree in Special Education from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY. Debbie is certified as Teacher of Special Education (Nursery – Grade 12) and Elementary School Teacher (Nursery – Grade 6). Debbie is a member of The Jewish Education Project’s Long Island Director’s Network and is on the executive board of The Jewish Early Childhood Association where she serves as the financial secretary. Debbie Neuschatz lives in Roslyn Heights with her husband Howard Glaser and their dog Simba. Simba and Howard round at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, where Simba works with patients as a therapy dog. Debbie has two grown daughters, Molly and JoJo, both who attended synagogue preschools and went to Solomon Schechter Day School.

Gayle Friedman
Administrative Assistant
Prior to working in early childhood education, Gayle Friedman was employed as a
school dental hygienist. Before coming to Shorashim in 2020, she was employed
at Temple Sinai in Roslyn for 39 years. During this time she was a preschool
assistant teacher for fifteen years and then administrative assistant for 24 years.
She loves her role as administrative assistant to Debbie Neuschatz and Dorie
Meyerson!! Gayle is originally from Ferndale, NY (the center of the Borscht Belt) .
She presently lives in Oyster Bay and has one grown son, Harlan.
